[Taipei, March 12, 2026] APMIC, a leading brand of enterprise-specific AI solutions, announced today (March 12) the completion of a US$7 million Series A funding round, led by Pasadena-based private equity firm AIPO, with Trend Micro as a co-investor. The funds will be used to deepen the development of ground-based private AI small models, enhance the application capabilities of AI agents, and expand the market presence in Taiwan and overseas, further promoting the practical implementation of enterprise-specific AI.
Focusing on government and financial scenarios, we are developing optimized small models and AI agent applications.
APMIC offers optimized small-model architectures and AI agent applications for scenarios with high compliance and security requirements. Through its ground-based deployment architecture, enterprises can implement highly customized AI solutions without leaking sensitive data. Compared to general-purpose large language models, APMIC's optimized small models offer higher inference efficiency and cost advantages in specific industry scenarios, and are also easier to control and fine-tune, making them suitable for industries sensitive to data security and computational costs, such as finance and government agencies.
AIPO representative Liu Mei-hsiu stated, "APMIC has demonstrated solid technological strength and commercialization capabilities over the past few years. It has not only successfully entered the highly compliant industry landscape but has also established a replicable methodology for model optimization and implementation. We are particularly optimistic about their potential for simultaneous expansion in both Taiwan and the United States. As enterprises continue to prioritize data sovereignty and cost-effectiveness, the demand for small, proprietary models will continue to grow. APMIC possesses both technological depth and market acumen, making them a team capable of seizing this transformation opportunity."
Wei-Chin Chang, Chief Technology Officer of Trend Micro, stated, "As a leading AI security provider, Trend Micro has been focusing on AI-centric technology research and development in recent years, and has strategically deployed its AI ecosystem to bring together industry partners to jointly create an AI application environment that is both intelligent and secure. We are very optimistic about the breakthroughs of the APMIC team in model optimization and quantization technologies, which will bring enormous potential to its business in Taiwan and overseas markets. We look forward to continuing to promote cooperation and expansion of the AI security ecosystem through Trend Micro's technical support."
APMIC Founder and CEO Po-Han Wu stated, "2026 will be the year of explosive growth for ground-based private AI small models. As enterprises increase their demands for data sovereignty and model controllability, the market is shifting from relying on large models in the public cloud to small model architectures that can be deployed and optimized on-premises. The funds raised in this round will help APMIC continue to invest in R&D and expand its domestic and international markets, targeting the government and financial industries, and creating optimized models and AI agent applications that balance performance, cost, and compliance requirements, helping enterprises securely implement AI within their own data boundaries."

APMIC officially announced the completion of a $7 million Series A funding round, led by Pasadena-based private equity firm AIPO, with Trend Micro as a co-investor.
APMIC, in partnership with TrendForce, achieves a breakthrough in the quantification technology of cybersecurity models.
In terms of technological collaboration, APMIC and Trend Micro have jointly achieved a breakthrough in security model quantization technology. The R&D team successfully quantized the original open-source security model, which used 16-bit floating-point (FP16) precision, into an NVIDIA 4-bit floating-point (NVFP4) precision model. This reduced the model's memory requirements by more than half, while the decrease in question-answering accuracy was less than 2%. This achievement significantly lowers the hardware threshold required for enterprise-level AI deployment, accelerates the application of AI in security scenarios, and simultaneously supports PrivStation, an enterprise-owned AI platform product launched last year.
Continuing its commitment to open-source technology and contributing to the developer community, APMIC also announced the simultaneous open-sourcing of its quantized small models, aiming to promote innovation and ecosystem development in cybersecurity AI technology. Looking ahead, APMIC will continue to invest in R&D and market expansion, striving to become a key driver of enterprise-driven AI solutions.
